Employment
Students are employed full time (M-F, 9-5) by a prominent Boston area organization for 7 weeks during the summer. Exact employement dates are contingent upon organizational needs, but typically the range is the end of June through the middle of August.

Supervision
Students are supervised by a professional at the host organization. The DLI Director also meets with each student on a weekly basis for the first half of the summer. A performace check-in will occur at the midpoint of the fellowship to ensure expectations are being met by all parties.

Professional Development
Students participate in professional development every week through "site visits" to host organizations. Led by the DLI Director, 2-3 organizations are visited each week, usually on Wednesdays. Visits include a tour of the organization, presentations by organizational leaders, and conversations about the professional world. Virtual site visits occur occassionally.

Educational Grant
Deitch Fellows receive a $3,000 educational grant.

Tasks
Tasks vary depending on the organization. Efforts are made for tasks to be varied and important, not menial. Tasks vary each year depending on the needs of the organization. Applicants can review the 2022 tasks and projects compiled by the 2022 Deitch Fellows to get a historical sense.
